At Rolling Hills Veterinary Hospital, we know that surgical procedures require the highest levels of skill and precision. Our surgeons are thoroughly experienced and highly trained, and utilize the very latest in medical technology.
Pets may need surgery for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it’s the result of an injury, such as being hit by a car or attacked by another animal. Sometimes it’s for neutering or to remove a benign skin mass. Sometimes it’s to remove a cancerous tumor or to correct a genetic issue. Whatever the situation, you can rest assured that your pet will be in good hands.
One of the best ways to lessen the stress and fear about surgery is to understand exactly what will be happening. We’ll communicate with you about the things you need to know before, during and after your pet’s surgery. Our goal is to make the entire process go smoothly and to eliminate the worry over the procedure.
We offer a variety of solutions and treatments for your pet’s orthopedic issues. Many active pets injure themselves while playing or fetching, and require surgery for torn ligaments or cartilage. We understand that orthopedic problems can be a big challenge for both pets and pet owners and we are dedicated to working with you throughout the process; especially post-procedure, by providing detailed instructions for home care and follow up. If you have any questions at any point, don’t hesitate to contact us.
The Latest in Laser Tech
We’re proud to offer the latest in laser surgery and therapy for our patients at our Buttonwood clinic. We offer Class IV Laser therapy treatment as well which is used to promote wound healing and pain management, and laser procedures allow us to reduce the bleeding and swelling of surgery, making it both safer and less invasive. Laser therapy also minimizes the risk of infection and reduces pain and recovery time, helping your pet get back to their normal self more quickly.
We can utilize laser surgery for many conditions. Our surgeons will evaluate your pet and determine if a laser procedure is the appropriate course of action.
Spay & Neuter Services
One of the most important health decisions you’ll make is to spay or neuter your cat or dog.
Removing the ovaries and uterus of a female pet requires minimal hospitalization and offers lifelong health benefits. It helps prevent uterine infections and breast cancer, which is fatal in about 50 percent of dogs and 90 percent of cats. Spaying your pet before her first heat offers the best protection from these diseases.
Removing the testicles of your male dog or cat will vastly improve your pet’s behavior and keep them from roaming. Besides preventing unwanted litters, neutering your male pet prevents testicular cancer and helps eliminate marking/spraying and aggression problems.
We’re pleased to offer both of these services and will do everything we can to help keep your pet as comfortable and calm during the procedures as possible.
